Yeah but they get Lake Ontario, Adirondak Park with Saranak Lake, Lake Placid and the Olympic Arena. Montreal isn't that far away and a wonderful city. Two or more feet of snow can be daunting but even Floridians can get used to it. Up side: Your kids will learn to play ice hockey. It is the only thing to do in the winter. You will become a Hockey Dad/Mom.

My nephew and his wife love Ft. Drum. They discovered snowmobile racing, skiing, bobsledding, and yes Ice Hockey. They would like to stay there for another tour, but they just found out that when he get back from Iraq, they will be Transferring to 1st Cav at Ft. Hood TX within 6 months…...or so it stands now. Gosh it seems like yesterday that he was born. To think that young man now is on his third contract just makes me feel like I am getting old!

I always joked with Bullet that I knew where we were going next before him.
Reason why is the military typically does that. They send you somewhere cold, you buy everything to live there (snow blower included) and then they send you somewhere the complete opposite. We went from the UK (gray and cold...it's a heat wave if it hits 80 in the summer) to NC (need I say more) to AK to NC. My other joke was that we experienced most of the natural disasters...Tornadoes in Kansas, Hurricanes in NC, Earthquakes in AK
