This is a continuing discussion on this forum, so now you probably read a bunch of comments. The truth is, if they're fully in they can stay, if there's no sign of them ever coming in they can stay. If anything else occurs they need removed because why would you want the pain of them when your a week from a port.
That makes sense! We'll get him checked out. Thanks

Default Class of 2016- last minute request for info! HELP!

Our DD leaves from overseas in two days to prepare for Indoc - submitting the TWIC application and shopping for supplies we cannot get overseas. She has been on the Facebook page for the class of 2016 and states that other "friends" have been referring to a 100+ page document. We are not sure what they are referring to.

We have submitted all of the medical paperwork, have done the survey for incoming candidiates and have had her wisdom teeth and braces removed. She has referred to the Logging In Book to let me know what she still needs supply wise.

Can anyone tell us what we are missing?

Many thanks!

Kathy in the Logging In book there should be a page for the student to check off forms, items, etc. we also just checked off all the lists we came upon. If you have that it will help. If not I would imagine you can download it or at least read it online as well. Please let us know if you cannot access it and I am sure we can figure out if you still need something. My DS flew out to Indoc on his own ( only from the middle of the US) so I understand (somewhat) of what you are going through.

There is also a parents of 2016 page as well. Aside from some squabbling ( I may or may not be involved in that) you will find others who are doing exactly the same things right now and you will find the most current information. Good luck and best wishes.

Default Naval Science Indoctrination Package

She is talking about the Questionnaire for National Security Positions (Standard Form 86 2010) which is referenced in the packet received from the Department of Naval Science. It is a 127 page questionnaire which is to be completed online, printed out, and then hand-delivered at INDOC. Just in case you did not get the packet, the packet says to call Ms. Shifa Santiago and/or Ms. Stacy Jordan in the Naval Science Administrative office at 516-726-5790/5787 for "any general questions". There are other things in the packet, including a fingerprint card, that need to be prepared before indoc. Good luck.

Default Thanks LynPar and 4kids!

DD and I appreciate your help on this! She will look for it this morning. If it was mailed it may not have arrived yet as our mail service is horrible. We will make a call if we don't see it. THANKS!

Default Hello, '88 KP Alum Here

Hello Everyone, Joined the group to learn about the current situation at KP. Buddy of mine has a kid that was just dis-enrolled for what was seemingly a minor issue. He was caught AWOL at the Great Neck movie theater. He was a second classman, with one other Class 2 violation in his 3rd class year (onboard consumption - 50 and 6 from what I recall). I heard the new admin was cleaning things up, but had no idea it was going this far. Also heard that the time-honored tradition of ringing the bell after passing license boards is going to be a regulated, mustered event, per a new procedure. Re: the new admin cleaning it up -- several months ago I read a major media article that lambasted KP for some serious issues in the past few years, including fraternization between the admin and the students with alcohol involved at late night parties on campus. However, the pendulum has surely swung if they're tossing kids out for AWOL at the movie theater. I'll look through threads for more info on the situation. Thanks for reading...

AWOL is AWOL. Doesn't matter where you are.

My terminology may not be current/precise here. Over the Wall is the term we used when we were off KP without liberty. It is a Class 2 violation, and traditionally carries 50 demerits and 6 wks restriction (50/6). Expulsion was not an option for a Class 2.

However, "AWOL" while on sea duty has always been a Class 1 violation, 100/8. It traditionally has almost always resulted in expulsion. The prime example is missing a ship after liberty in port.
