Default CVW for an Appointee?

I was just wondering if the CVW would be worth it for someone like me. I have received my official appointment and have accepted it already, so USNA is definitely where i am going. I have been down to USNA many many times and gotten to see the entire campus (including for the game this past weekend), and went to Summer Seminar. Would it still be worth me going? I would go in a heartbeat normally, but i have swim meets every weekend, and just wanted to see if it would be worth it to miss one of these. Thanks!

The difference between what you have already done to see USNA and a CVW is that on a CVW you will be spending time with a current plebe. You sleep in Bancroft Hall, will most likely attend a class and eat in King Hall. The plebes are pretty honest and open about what they have experienced so far. If you feel you could benefit from that type of experience, then you should attend a CVW.

Congrats on your Appointment.

i think you should go. I went in october, and i also went to summer seminar, and the 2 visits were totally different. it didn't change my mind, i still def want to go to the academy, but i got a lot of helpful advice from the plebes about plebe year and plebe summer, etc. it was also fun to be among the brigade for a few days. some classes were boring, some were also really fun... my plebe had an awesome leadership seminar teacher. it's not absolutely necessary, but i think if given the opportunity you should take advantage of it. i think they have them in january and february also, do u have swim meets then too? bc i think you can request a date change if that would help.

The CVW dates for next spring have been posted; you might consider swapping for a spring visit that doesn't conflict with your swimming. Several previous responders are correct: the CVW is different from NASS and you most certainly should participate.

Congrats on your appt!

Plebes do Plebe Year. There is no break between summer and Reform except PPW. All the time 24/7. Life is h**l and then the Brigade returns. You had Detailers and now you have Three Thousand upperclassmen. You will square corners and say "Yes Sir/Yes Mam" to everything that doesn't have a paint job. CHOW calls for all, news reports and everything else. Just don't call a Marine Major "GUNNY" . You will pay immediately and be remembered for the next four years.
