Could you share your ACT or SAT scores; just want to see what the range of scores are that they are looking at and selecting for NASS.

Thanks....

I did not include any of my scores in my application. only Psat which was 69 and 72 i believe. and took this in 8th grade, so my high school does not have it on record, only my middle school

I can say with confidence that they're not looking for a kid with a certain score on the tests. The score I put on my application was 56 math and 60 CR for PSAT and 570 math and 630 CR for SATs (my first try). I didn't take the ACT. I also had an okay-ish GPA, trust me, they're definitely looking at more than just test scores.

Hahaha I feel a little embarassed, looking at those two's scores up there. I'm totally going to work hard to improve though!

Nass is more where you are geographically and if your area is well represented at the academy. You may not get in to Nass and still get an appointment or vice versa.

Ditto.

But keep in mind, that nowhere on the application did it ask for your composite ACT score, only math and English. So my son's ACT would look higher since they'd be seeing his 36 in math and not see his 27 in science!

do they do that for actual admissions too?

i (sophmore had a 31 math and 28 English), 27 in reading,
and a 26 in science

Yes, this year at least it was the same for admissions. My son knows someone who got an LOA (and eventual appointment) to Navy with high Math and English scores, and was deemed non-competitive (and thus not an official candidate) by USAFA due to a low reading score. I think the minimum was 25 so you'd be okay there, but unless they change it, those were the ones considered.

You will have to send them an official score report so they'll see all your scores, but if those are yours as a sophomore, you shouldn't have any problems by junior year meeting the minimums (which you already have) and probably being competitive overall in all the sections just in case!

first time SAT 2080
first time ACT 33 comp
first time PSAT 196
waiting on march SAT scores (hopefully a boost!)
