Does anyone now a rough estimate of how many people have already been offered appointments? Just curious.

the million dollar question. As posted earlier, see lots of TWE's but not any appointments.

I'm sorry, but in my experience (the last two years) I haven't seen any appointments in April from the forum. I remember last year watching the forum as one person after another received their TWE (myself included). I would guess that the vast majority of appointments are handed out already. However, don't give up. ROTC is a great option to get a commission and you can always apply again like I did (I now have an appointment to USAFA). Applying a second time shows your drive and commitment, two things the Academies like. Don't give up and good luck!

What is the forum that you refer to? Are you saying in your experience no one has received an appointment in April? Sorry - I just don't understand what you are saying here. I'd appreciate it if you could clarify. Thanks.

They are refering to the thread from last year, "April is a good month!" I don't think they're saying that no one recieves an appointment in april, people definitely do, just that last year a lot of the people in that thread didn't.

Does anyone know how long it take admissions to update a candidate profile?? I am wondering if they give the MOC a chance to call the candidate first compared to the candidate calling admission every day.... Thanks for the help!!

I've heard both ways. Sometimes the MOC calls the candidate before they get the BFE, but sometimes they won't even tell the MOC about the appoinment until after the candidate already knows.

I believe the MOC always gets advance notification of an appt, but some don't trouble themselves to contact the appointee. (Can you tell I'm STILL mad @ my MOC for never sending any notification of appt, or even of my 2/C's nomination?)

Is it possible that the MOCs only get notifications for appointments that occupy their 'slots'? (i.e. If the candidate is a subsequent appointee from a particular MOC out of the qualified pool, the MOC is not notified since they're not officially occupying one of the 5 cadet slots that MOC is allowed?) We didn't get a call for my DD's USAFA appointment and haven't heard anything yet from USNA (or MOC).

Strange Appointment Notification

My son was given the Principal Nomination from our Congressman. He also received a nomination from one of our Senators. The other Senator wrote explaining that in an effort to nominate more kids, he was not offering a nomination to my son, since he had the Principal. Funny thing....a letter came from that Senator announcing my son's appointment. We never received a letter from the Congressman notifying of the appointment or the Senator that gave him a nomination. It came from the one that DIDN'T offer the nomination.

Congratulations to you and your son - so nice to see positive news!
