picking classes

Congratulations - my son will be a knob in August as well. He indicated a major in his application (civil engineering) and found the class schedule online by semester, but days/times are not given. The school calendar suggests the knob schedules are determined just after matriculation, but call the Citadel to be certain.
Registration packets will be mailed out next month for course selection. Good luck!

Class Schedules for first semester knobs are made by their academic advisors. They will send you a form to fill out about the classes you want to take. If you look on the college catalog (http://www.citadel.edu/main/academics/catalogs.html) you can find the recommended four-year schedules for each major. Unless you have AP or transfer credits already, that will likely be your schedule.
Your class schedule will be displayed on PAWS once it is made. After Hell week (but before classes start) each cadet has to meet with their advisor. So if changes need to be made, they can be.

I'll be graduating high school with my 1st year of college done through dual enrollment if any of you are familar with that. what im curious is, i know i will be entering The Citadel with the class of 2014 and will go through knob year with them but taking sophomore classes, but will I get to graduate with 2013? If so, will i be disliked by all the 2013 cadets because I didnt go through knob year with them but with 2014. I feel like I wont have the bond because I'm some new guy coming in when they already made their bonds.

I took some dual enrollment classes myself, though I'm choosing to stay for the four years (double majoring rather than finishing early).
It's true, the bond with your classmates that you went through knob year with will be very strong. But its not too big of a deal to graduate early. There are a few of my classmates that are likely going to do that. Just make sure to keep that knowledge to yourself and your classmates while you're a knob. It may be a bit weird to graduate with 2013, but it makes no sense to delay graduation unless you have a reason too. And don't worry, you'll get to know my 2013 classmates once you're an upperclassmen.
As for academic classification, depending on how much credit you bring in and your major, you will be likely be classified as a first or second semester sophomore (3B or 3A). Obviously that doesn't mean much at all as a knob, but it will when you are applying for rank and I think you'll be able to get certain privileges early. But I'd be hesitant to use them since the guys you knobbed with won't have those privileges yet. It's a big deal each time the sophomores or juniors get another privilege.

SF49ers thanks for that reply. Yeah, after knob year im guessing everybody is friends except with the knobs so that should be fine. When you apply for rank, is there a sheet you fill out where you put every thing youve done in the corps of cadets and then a board reviews it?

Yes, the current method is that you fill out a sheet detailing your academics, physical fitness, accomplishments, etc. Then you have an interview with the TACs and your first sergeant. Then the top few from every battalion go on to regimental rank boards where they are evaluated by the Commandant's Department personally. Under the current system, you are evaluated based on a points system. You can get up to 12 points based on your application (3 points each for academics, physical fitness, morals/discipline, and leadership) and then up to 8 points in your interviews.
