DS got E-mail from PM at a School not on his list, and it said something to the affect of since cadet command did not offer a scholarship (i guess to there since he did get a scholarship) they want to talk to him about giving him a direct offer to their school. What does this mean? Is it as good as the 4 yr scholarship?

It is a campus scholarship. It can be a 4-year (non-transferrable) or a 3-year AD (advanced designeee - guaranteed for the last 3 years).

If it is for a school that is still taking applications (some are) and he is interested in the school, by all means go for it.

Which school is it, so I can have my DS contact them, lol...?!? We're still waiting to hear from the April Board, and DS's application was even submitted early.

That is a great offer, and definitely something your son should look into if he hasn't been offered anything directly from Cadet Command yet.

My daughter heard from Mary Baldwin in Virginia (all-female military school), University of Auburn - Montgomery, and Ole Miss saying they had spots if she was interested. She got the 4-year scholarship, though, so she's not. But - those are some options for others if interested.
