This past year in my AFJROTC unit we've had some issues with theft apparently. Sometime in the year, someone stole flight simulator software. About 3 weeks ago, someone stole our SASI's key to our water/gatorade cash box. Lock wasn't changed and this past Saturday at our Squadron Competition, over $100 was stolen from the box.
Our SASI and ASI basically decided this was the last straw. So they cancelled all our events for the rest of the year. We are losing our Pass-in-Review and Awards Ceremony, our farewell picnic to the seniors, and our week long leadership camp at a military base during the summer. We also can't hang out in the office when the SASI and ASI step out, the officers can't hang out in our "lounge" area, we can't go into the SASI or ASI's office just to talk, and no body, including the finance officer, is allowed to handle money.
So there are two lessons to take from this. One, if you are a person of integrity, know that in the military, if one person screws up, your entire unit goes down. Two, if you aren't someone of integrity, try to refrain doing something that will destroy every one else's fun.
