Hello,
I am a senior who is accepted at Norwich University. I am placed under Corps of Cadets for lifestyle and I have received a ROTC scholarship, sort of. After getting acceptance into Norwich, I waited for a response for Cadet Command, who still haven't written back to me, and before I knew it, I have dozens of colleges I didn't apply to or even know about, emailing me. Their emails tell me that they received news I have a scholarship and they are sorry to hear that all my choice schools have filled out their "allocations for ROTC Scholarships" but that I should apply to their school. Now, I haven't heard a word from Cadet Command about me receiving a scholarship but judging by these emails, I can make a safe bet that I have one. So, with this knowledge, I called up Norwich to see what all these emails mean. I talked with this Major who told me that they have one more ROTC board meeting and that I should call back in early May to check my status. I'm planning on doing it but the only problem is, I need to make a deposit to Norwich by May 1st! I need the scholarship if I'm going to pay for tuition.
So, as of right now, I'm confused on what I have to do exactly. I don't want to sit around, waiting to call Norwich to see about the board meeting and I don't want to sit around wait for Cadet Command to get back to me on what my status is for the scholarship. Can anyone help?
Also, if this helps, I was a FQNS for West Point. Having been on the NWL, I waited, hoping I would get in, but alas, I didn't. I'm not giving up though on attending the Point, that's part of the reason I'm going for Norwich and ROTC.
