NASS waitlist

My son is on the waitlist for NASS. We live in Maryland so travel is not a problem. Does anyone know if anyone was ever pick from the waitlist a day or 2 before a session???
Also, has anyone on this waitlist been chosen yet for any session this year???
 
Yes, it does happen. My belief is they keep a waiting list of local kids to fill any last minute slots. Mine was given about 4 days notice in '08. Not sure about this year.
 
Last year I was on the waitlist until a week or so before. I got into the first session and ended up getting the "Outstanding Candidate Award" for my comapany and later an appointment. There's always a chance
 
i just got an email today saying that i was selected for session 3 from the waitlist. i'm from florida.
