HELP---local paper wants info -stats-etc. Where do i find these and what do i need to let them know ? They want to interview DS along with a story about USNA----I've been web surfing and can't find what we need.

Many appointees keep the newspaper article information to a bare minimum due to stories of plebe summer/beast detailers googling the new plebes/cadets and giving them a hard time for boasting.

Info about the process, the nominating source, etc plus a humble statement about 'the great honor to attend the academy with all of other fine appointees and plebes' might be just enough to keep the detailers at bay. IMO

What do you need? The newspaper can get info about the process of being appointed (appication process, nomination, selection) from the internet ... stats on number of applications, value are also easy to find ...

our paper did a short article on our son ... for that it was basically his resume ... academic study, 3-sport athlete, boy scout etc ...

reporters are resourceful ... the info is out there ... collegeboard.com has some too ...

Each Academy has a "canned" write up; contact your BGO, AAP, etc.
As far as Google searches, I wouldn't worry about that. I know when DD1 was cadre she was too busy and could care less about looking stuff up about the swabs. The cadre will find enough stuff to give them a hard time about once they arrive
