Your swab-to-be should soon be getting a letter with the R-day stuff. Son got call from AIM buddy about company info is posted on some website. I saw it (son is in Alpha) and it has post office boxes as well. The facebook group is also going haywire with the incoming swabs posting their companies. :eek:R-Day is LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!!!!!

^^^
They will need the parking pass number that was included in their reporting in packet to find out their information from the FB web site.

Charlie Company!!! :thumb:

The FB site is something that only the Class of 2014 Appointees were friended to join. It is a private group, so you'll have to ask your incoming Swab

USNA1982,

Looks like I will be in Charlie with your daughter! Can't wait to see everyone on June 27th and R-Day!

Alpha Company! - Thanks again.

FYI - Alfa, not Alpha. :thumb:

Alfa Company (Alligators): Regimental Health and Well-Being
Bravo Company (Bulls): Regimental Training
Charlie Company (Cobras): Regimental Honor
Delta Company (Dogs): Regimental Drills and Ceremonies
Echo Company (Eagles): Regimental Public Affairs and Transportation
Foxtrot Company (Flounders): Regimental Operations
Golf Company (Gophers): Regimental Comptroller
Hotel Company (Hellions): Regimental Morale

You will be assigned a company for Swab Summer, a new company for the 4/c year, and yet one more for your remaining time at the USCGA.

are these companies arranged with personalities of the cadets in mind (for the years except 4/c and swab summer), or is it completely random?

You will fill out a detailed questionnaire that will enable the academy to place you in an appropriate company. FOr instance, if you show aptitude for history and traditions, they will place you in Charlie Company. If you are skilled with laundry, Golf Company is for you. If you can drive the Liberty Van, Echo Company awaits your arrival. And if you are a fitness nut or a fan of Weight Watchers, you will go to Alfa Company.

 (It's a joke, a little humor to break the Pre R-Day jitters!) :shake:

Company assignments are random, although I have heard unconfirmed rumors that "fall sports" athletes are placed in Alfa/Bravo/Charlie during swab summer to ensure they are back from Eagle in time for the beginning of practice.

Thats actually true. It usually makes them pretty stacked for intercompany sports too. Over my swab summer Golf company maybe won 2 IC games, they killed everyone on the indoc tests though...:shake:

That would explain why my swab summer company last summer (Bravo) had so many back to back clean sweeps haha. We had a lot of recruited athletes in Bravo.

Whew! Read the beginning of Luigi's post and thought, HUH??? :shake:

But, as DD1 stated when she was placed in Hotel Company her 3/c year, "They are HARDCORE." She did live up to that, but with a sense of humor.

Hilarious!! :yllol: Maybe that's why my daughter no longer in SS company Echo (terrible sense of direction) and 4/C Charlie (history her 'least favorite' class). She's in Hotel now.

Echo company SS? Gee, our son-in-law was her cadre (figuring out libo vans and airport shuttles was not high on his list of "fun" things to do). Too bad she wasn't in Hotel her 4/c year when our daughter was the XO.
All 8 companies are great! :thumb:
DD1 was in Alfa company 4/c year and didn't want to leave...

Our D has liked all companies she has been in - sad to leave but soon 'at home' in her new company. 2014 swabs and parents, don't worry - if you partake in activities at CGA evening before R-day you'll have a chance to 'meet and greet' other incoming 4/C from your SS company. They usually post signs outside Leamy Hall for each company and cadets can 'meet and greet' one another. Also there is opportunity on Sunday to 'tour' Chase Hall where you may walk by and see your swab's room (take note of roommate name - you may meet them later in the afternoon!) Though, like companies change swab summer, 4/C and 3-1/C - there are also periodic roommate and room changes within each company.
