I have yet to receive my mailing address like I was informed, when will I expect to receive such information? If I will?

Yeah, I would say that is a problem at this point. I got mine a week ago via email and snail mail. I'd call admissions and see whats up.

My letter with me address on it was dated June 8th so you probably should have received it by now. I did not receive an email with my address though. You may be able to contact admissions and they should have it for you. If not you will get it on R-Day.

We have not received DS address either but I suspect it's up at USMAPS, as that's the address they have listed for him on the portal. I guess we'll have to wait till he gets back up there next week to find out.

We also have not received the show up time for "R" Day. I realize he'll show up with the rest of the Prepsters but, we have no idea what to do as parents on "R" Day other than show up at Holleder Center and start looking for DS

Outside chance of another Prepster person here have an idea?
TYIA

Deb Dalton sent an email to those who have given her their addresses about receiving info from WP. If you did not get report time or mailing address, you need to contact admissions ASAP. If you are not on facebook, you should consider signing up so you don't miss the info Deb puts out for parents on West Point Parents.

Maximus in addition to it being her job to help parents, Deb had a son coming from the Prep School two years ago. She is out of reach until the 22nd taking care of some famliy business, but if you give her a call on the 23rd I am sure she will answer any questions you have! :thumb:

We've met Deb Dalton a couple of times and she's helped before, I just hate to bug her now as I know she's crazy busy at this time.
DS talked to his TAC Officer a few days ago and she said they (The Prepsters) were all signing in early on "R" Day. DS is willing to wing it....( I hate wing'in it...) and told us he'd fill us in when he arrives back to Prep Formation this coming Thursday afternoon, 24 May. His TAC also told him that he'd be able to meet us on Sunday [at West Point] from noon till 6:00 PM. As I stated in another post, I suspect we're not receiving any of the mailings because his web portal states his address as Ft. Monmouth.

I was just trying to get an early heads up on what happens Monday for 'Parents of Prepsters', it's kind of vague but I'm sure DS will be able to fill us in on Sunday. He assured me that his TAC said everything is set when he talked to her last week. I'm sure they have a plan and we're not on that "need to know" list :)

I received a mail, no address, but has Rday report time:

0630-0800

Does that mean we can show up anytime between 6:30 and 8:00am ?

FYI:

"From West Point Parents: Incoming candidates from USMAPS will report to West Point as a group. They arrive on Sunday morning and are allowed to spend a portion of the day w/parents if they are in the area. They have to return to the barracks area between 4-5 p.m., will have a briefing and undergo a few checks and sleep in the barracks. The prepsters are the first group to report in on Monday morning at approximately 6 a.m. Parents are welcome to join their sons/daughters as they report and receive their initial briefing. The rest of the inprocessing begins after you say your good-byes."

Maximus - I knew a prepster parent a couple of years ago. They went up with their prepster the night before and after the prepsters went back to the barracks they did not see her again since they didn't want to get up so early.

They inprocess the prepsters first thing before everyone else arrives and do so as a group. This way they use the prepsters to help out inprocessing the rest of the class.

Yes. Did they give you a color coded card with the report time on it?

Two years ago they had three report time 'windows'. I think they were 6:30-7:30, 7:30-8:30 and 8:30-9:30. They still got backed up big time for hours so if you don't like standing in line go early!
My daughter had a 7:30 report time and we got there around 7 ish. At 8 am they were still taking 6:30 reports and we didn't get in until well after 8:30.
The line is not bad though - full of nervous kids and parents!!

Suggestion - wear a t-shirt with your high school, or city/state or favorite baseball team etc. It will make a good conversation piece and help relive the tension!

I have heard that also along with using the prepsters the day before to help cadre hone the next day procedures. I have also heard that they won't do that this year as they want the prepsters to get the exact "big blue bag" treatment the rest of the class gets. Especially the mock "R" Day they run a day or two early, no more prepsters there.

One thing is certain, I'll know on Monday @ 0530
