Neat R-day photo I just noticed.

If you go to USMA.edu, and scroll down to the "R-Day Class of 2014" image, there are three photos on the bottom of the image. The photo on the right is my squad of new cadets taking the oath on R-Day 2002 (I was their Squad Leader, just out of the frame).

The black girl on the right in the photo is Chonna, and she's an Army doctor now. The asian gentleman next to her is Sam. He's an engineer officer now. The white guy second from the left is Robbie, now a Psyops officer after infantry, and the kid on the far left is Chris. He didn't make it.

Funny to see my "kids" on the R-day image for 2014! It seems so long ago now.

Don't worry, parents. The kids are alright ;)

Agreed. Way cool. So cool I showed it to my wife. It is nice to put a perspective on what the cadets are going through and show it is not the end game but a means to the end. Thanks for sharing.
