I just finished my freshmen year of high school and I really want to attend the
USMA
GPA: 3.6
Taking Pre-AP when AP classes are lacking
Have yet to take my SATs or ACTs but am taking prep classes
And go to a school district where it's nearly impossible to be in the top 20%.
so my rank is 267 out of 816
Sports: Played basketball in middle school, played softball this year but quit, but I keep myself very much in shape. I go to the gym daily and go running every other day. Also I participate in my JROTC unit's female PT team and we run, do push ups, etc. for competition
Leadership: I am in Army JROTC and am appointed to be my company's 1st sgt next year and the unarmed drill team commander. I have received the national award of Superior cadet. I already know drill and ceremony,
Extra:
-I volunteer at my temple with small children (I'm jewish)
-play the trumpet, I've made it my mission to memorize old fashioned military bugle calls
-In Model UN, where we sit around and argue all day pretending to be the UN
-used to be a girl scout
I strongly believe that my sports section is way under what an applicant's should be, and my academics is no up to par from what I'm looking at other saps that are asking of your opinion. But I believe I had leadership skills and am a step of head of everyone else, my JROTC unit is an Honor Unit with Distinction so I can skip over trying to be recommended by my congressman.
But I am afraid that I can't make it. So what do you think?
