So, what's an AF guy to do in Annapolis?

OK, time to ask those from the "other team" about the USNA surroundings . I'm at the Naval Academy starting Monday for a few days, participating in a F-35 conference. (Conference is actually being held at the Stadium! Don't ask me how, but if I walk in to find out it's just a bunch of guys sitting around tables in the Visitor's locker-room, I'm turning straight around!)

Busy all day through the week, but just want to know --- what restaurants / establishments should I try to get to the nights that I'm there. Staying at the Courtyard Marriott just a couple of minutes from the Academy, so places close by are a plus. Most likely will go with a crowd, military and civilian. Only visited there once (last year's AF / Navy game, and didn't hit any local establishments afterwards due to my expectation that they would be packed) so my knowledge of the area is limited.

OK, USNA parents. Where should I go?

Well I think you should go down to Herndon and in a nice AF voice holler something like...

GO AIR FORCE, SINK NAVY!!! :yay:

What with the Plebe's inprocessing, the cadre all there, etc...etc...

It's BOUND to be exciting! :thumb:

Probably like yelling DEAD BUG in the Nellis Zero Club bar on a Friday night... :worship:

Well, Chic and Ruth's deli was on Man v. Food...that's a start. We went to a hole in the wall crab cake place about 10 min from Annapolis, right on the water...it was great: http://www.davispub.com/

By the way, we were there for Patriot League Meet...we wore West Point gear the whole time...they love that sort of thing up there.

flieger, you are a reason to miss ADAF, I am sure Bullet will call DEAD BUG the same day he walks in wearing his cranium covered:eek: Then again, there is an easy way to get out of that problem...call SOCK or COIN CHECK !

Daughter is home on leave and just chimed in. Galway Bay it is.:thumb:

The last time I was there they served Guiness at about 32.1 degrees F.

Magothy Seafood

For fresh crabs try a local's hangout called Magothy Seafood. About 15 min N. over the Severn River bridge by car. Use a Garmin or iPhone w/gps or you won't find it! My wife's family went there for over 20 years until they left the area.

"What's an AF guy to do in Annapolis?"

Speak slowly, using short, simple sentences, containing words with as few syllables as possible.

This is for the Squids, of course. For the Jar Heads, just grunt and nod...and don't make eye contact (they may see that as a threat).

I was gonna say that you could meet up with a Navy counterpart and discuss which of your respective Service Academies is the better. Obviously, that means the loser of that argument is the number three Academy in the land, since the argument would be for second place.

Haha, what's that list? The also-rans? :shake::thumb:

Hmmm....USMMA...is that a school? Like, do they give diplomas and everything? Oh, I see, you just left your finger on the "M" key too long. Common error. :yllol::wink:

Whoa, whoa, whoa. While, I am sure you have observed this behavior, I assume you are unaware that it is performed solely for the benefit of Woops in the area.

And it is impossible not to be aware of known Woops in the area.
