Does anybody have any advice for the ALO's evaluation? Such as how to prepare, or what kind of questions are asked? Thanks!!

The only advice that can be given, is for you to be yourself and be sincere. The types of questions aren't important, so don't worry about them. Matter of fact, the answers aren't even that important. What is important is HOW you answer the questions. Sincerity, honesty, truthfulness, etc... In other words, this isn't a "RIGHT vs WRONG" thing.

If you try and b.s. your way through things, your ALO will pick up on it. If you cop an attitude, your ALO will see that. Imagine any type of question the ALO "Might" ask, and you'd be correct. e.g. Why do you want to go to the academy? Why should the academy choose you? Are you what the academy/air force is looking for? Current affairs? You name it, they might ask it. It's not questions you study for. It's questions to determine who you are. Your attitude. Your motives.

So, the advice is to be confident; be sincere; be honest; be truthful; be respectful; be humble; be mature; and be yourself. The mature part means; don't fidgit, don't say: "Like, like, ya know, ummm, dude, etc... If you can follow the "Premise" I am suggesting, you will do fine. If you think it's something made up of right/wrong answers, then you'd be mistaken. They want to learn who you are; your thought process; if you have independent thought, or memorized a bunch of useless facts, etc... Consider this the "JOB INTERVIEW" of your life. Dress the part. Don't wear jeans and a t-shirt. Best of luck to you. Mike....

ARFALCON,
The fact that I'm a mom will clearly show in my answer but I think one of the most valuable things you can do before your interview is get a good night's rest. If your body is rested, you will be calmer, your brain will work faster, and you will be able to do your best.

But when it comes from mom/dad it is meaningless. haha

But let them hear it from a perfect stranger on a forum and it is the most important thing in the world.

My interview is after seven hours of football practice. So I will need an extra good night's rest.

Everyone is unique. My son did his cfa at the base gym with the alo and gym staff. After it was over, the alo had him follow her to her office. He did his interview in jeans and a tee shirt while I went and got us burgers. So you just never know.

Thank you Steve. There is an amusing true story behind my answer, but for my son's sake, I won't dare share it until AFTER Recognition!

Oh please, OBXmom, share it now!:p

And for the interview, don't try to prepare for the questions. If you do want to try it's pretty much impossible because there's so many questions (and again, there's no right or wrong). Just be honest, and answer each question to the best of your ability. Your ALO has done interviews before and they've seen lots of applicants, so just be yourself, don't go out of your way to say something just to impress them.

Dressing nice also helps as well. A good first impression goes a long way.
