Yesterday in my small town, the Marine Corps Band out of 29 Palms preformed the last concert of our local summer concert series. They've been doing this for a few years now, and have almost always had the honor of wrapping up the series. Probably half of the town turns out for this.
Anyway, on to the important part. I was down watching them with a few friends, when all of the sudden in the middle of a piece, all the electricity in the outdoor concert area went out. Now for most groups, when something like this happens, they'd stop and let the crowd know they were having "technical difficulties." But not the Marines, they just kept on playing. And they kept going for a good 10-15 minutes while the powers that be looked for the problem.
I just found this to be a good example of dedication in the military. Maybe I'm wrong for this situation, but to me, and the other 600-700 people that applauded them, it was something that stood out.
