Ok so i officially got the letter from west point saying they were going to pursue a waiver for me because i had a "solid profile."

Does this mean that I'll probably get qualified academically and physically because they willing to request a waiver for me?

I haven't gotten an LOA yet, but they just received my transcripts a week ago.

Also it said that the Surgeon would recommend me for a waiver if he sees I am good medically, and then the admissions team will look at my whole profile and make a decision. Does this mean that I have to have a stellar profile just to get that waiver? If so, since they said I have a "solid profile", does that mean that if I am found medically fit, that they will grant the waiver in all probability?

Of course I know there are always unknown variables in the equation, but I'm merely asking you all who have had experience in this process.

I would greatly appreciate your opinions and past experiences with this process.

One more side-note; I know West Point operates on a rolling admissions, so does this mean I might not get in because it'll take up to 3 months to close the deal on this waiver? Or will they go ahead and qualify/disqualify me physically and academically?

Hmmmm. Your condition first must be "waiverable". They might order a "remedial" - more tests or ask for certain medical records. Then the West Point surgeon will work with admissions and make the decision.

A few years ago my daughter went through the waiver process. If you have any questions or concerns contact Larry Mullen on the dodmerb forum ASAP. You can find his email there.

One more side-note; I know West Point operates on a rolling My admissions, so does this mean I might not get in because it'll take up to 3 months to close the deal on this waiver? No, West Point will offer you a LOA contingent on receiving a waiver in lieu of an appointment and hold your place through the process.
Or will they go ahead and qualify/disqualify me physically and academically?
The waiver process can take anywhere from a few days to a several months. This won't hold up your application in admissions. However, if West Point decides they can't waiver you, the admissions process will cease.

Answers in bold!
Good Luck and contact Larry Mullen via email!!

How long did it take from the time you were DQ-ed by the DodMERB and when you got the letter from West Point?

I'm slightly familiar with the waiver process but, what were you DQ'ed for?
If your looking for a percentage on the odds of your DQ being wavered, that info might help. Please, please, please.....don't answer your DQ if you're uncomfortable about talking about it here on line, and please do contact Mr. Larry Mullen.

As Just a Mom stated, your LOA and application will go forward till you are not waiverable or, DQ'ed after a remedial and then failed for a waiver of that DQ.

Well I know this is a big one, but asthma after 13. The main thing is though that I don't have it and i haven't had symptoms since like 9. My last meds were at age 15, but in all honesty i never used them.

I've talked to Larry Mullen, and he told me that he thinks I've got a good shot at getting the waiver.
