I couldn't find a thread that allowed everyone to update with their admission statuses (receiving LOAs) so I decided to start one. USMA had one so we need to get rolling '15.

Kevin Lee - Gainesville, VA (Northern Virginia)
LOA - 24 August 2010

Would it be useful for LOA recipients to list if they were a recruited athlete or not? That might be an indication of if it's something that's been in the works or if it's the output of general review by the board?

Hawk - Good point, I have a friend who is swimming for the Navy Women's team and she received her LOA on 16 July before her senior because she was more than academically qualified and was recruited. (Took Calc III as a freshman at USNA)

I am not a recruited athlete.

Hawk and wiscyellowjacket, when did you have your applications completed and submitted?

If you were lucky enough to receive an loa could you post your resume stats?
(Grade, scores, rank, leadership roles, activities, etc)

Congratulations to those who have received an LOA this early in the process. For your privacy I suggest that you not post your names out here. Posting your screen name is adequate and much safer. :thumb:

Congrat to all of you, but other candidates...don't give up the ship yet......the waiting is the hardest part and hang in there....our DS didn't receive an appointment until Feb.

Impressive!

But you are being used. You realize that, don't you?

You are raising the "class average", allowing them to recruit a really good slot back for their triple option attack.

Just received my LOA in the mail this past evening

LOA

I understand the admissions board is meeting today for the first time. Will the B and G officer be able to tell whether I am going to be offered a LOA or do I have to wait for the mail?

I also heard that it is really advantageous to have a complete application for this first meeting since the competition is not as fierce since a lot of people don't get their applications in. Is that true? Would a candidate who might not get one next month possibly get one this month because of this?

I understand the admissions board is meeting today for the first time.

Would that imply that the earlier LOA's posted were done without board review??? Recruited athletes??

I guess I had assumed the board had started meeting about the time LOA's started surfacing late August.

Board commenced meeting in early August, probably the first Thursday thereof.
