My son informed me yesterday that he is unable to get to the next page after inputting Personal Essay #4. When he clicks the "next page" button, the browser locks up and appears to be refreshing over and over again.

I attempted to troubleshoot. The same thing has happened when using three different computers (One desktop at my office, two laptops at home), two different browsers (IE and Safari) and two different service providers (Optimum Online at home and Verizon at my office).

He sent an email to the USCGA webmaster last night, but I am pretty sure he won't hear anything back from them until after the Labor Day weekend. I told him to be patient - if it's a CGA-based problem (even if it takes them a week to resolve), he'll still have plenty of time to complete the app for early review.

In the meantime, is anyone else having a similar problem? Perhaps someone has a suggestion....?

This is a known application problem, first reported to us on Thursday, where the applicant's graduation date is not being properly saved in (or associated with) their profile. After Personal Statement #4, the application system checks an applicant's graduation date to determine whether or not a "Post-High School Information" essay needs to be completed, so that's why the applicant is unable to proceed past that point. We hope to have the problem resolved early next week and will be sharing additional information with the applicant pool shortly after the Labor Day holiday.

Son received an email from CGA on Tuesday 9/7 that basically said the same thing you did. They told him if he didn't hear from someone by Friday to contact them. Well, Friday came and went, and he is still unable to continue the online application. He just sent another email this morning. Any suggestions?

Glitch was fixed yesterday. Thank you to Objee and all of the CGA staff who worked so quickly to resolve.
