Airborne and feeling goofy?!

I especially liked him getting off the DZ and falling asleep while on security:biggrin: After his dance did you watch the link to Barry Sadler singing the Ballad of The Green Berets? That was back in the pre-fruit salad Army. A SSG with a combat patch and CIB and no ribbons or medals on his greens? He would have 3 or 4 rows of ribbons nowadays.

Can someone clear this up for me? Are green berets the original Special Forces group and initial training starts at Ft Bragg? Everyone else is Special Operations?

Yes, you are correct. Special Forces is a branch and an accompanying qualification. All others are special operations forces.

We had a friend who wanted to leave the AF with only one ribbon, and was ticked to no end when they gave him the I was alive in 1990. I think that was the start of handing out ribbons like candy.
