No - not you pro football fans.
College football !!! :yay::yay::yay:
There's nothing better than Saturdays in the Fall!
So who is your favorite team?
A big War Eagle here !!! :w00t:
and tonight - I'm a Penn State fan!

Hawaii at Army Noon today I root for Army for every game except against VMI. Go Army (But I love to watch UH with that wide open passing attack. 36 Points against USC- buckle up Cadets for a wild ride!!)
Virginia at USC. Sorry UVA- not happening this year either - got slaughtered two years ago when you played USC- I think history will repeat itself today. USC maybe on probation but this is going to be a tough opener for the Cavs. First College football game I ever went to was USC- Cal game in 1966 - gotta go with your first love! go Trojans!
Penn State at Alabama: JoePa Rules- I hope he coaches till he is 100!!:thumb:
VMI at William &Mary. Ok- it's been 25 years since we last beat W&M but this is the year, you can feel it in the Air!!:thumb: :thumb::thumb:Rah Virginia Mil!!!

Well, its 7AM. Game is not until 3:30. Getting ready to head over to Annapolis to help set up the tailgate for 100 of my closest friends. And to see which team shows up today and/or if the fourteen returning starters remember anything from last year. Last week it was questionable.

I am beginning to think that the purpose of the DoDMERB physical is not to ensure that one can withstand the rigors of a Naval career but to ensure that their heart can survive Navy football in their older age.

Mongo- I think that Navy is going to take this one in a walk. GASouthern has been in a slump for the last couple of years since they let Mike Sewak go as coach. I think that you can plan on leaving the Tums at home today! Enjoy the tailgate party!!

Big Buckeye fan here...today's going to be a real showdown. I hate those thugs from "Da U" with a passion. Here's hoping for a big win.

Army's got a tough game ahead. I don't expect a W out of this one.

First, Notre Dame Fan always. then Navy and Army, then Penn State.

Finally, there is America's Game, Saturday, December 11th, only day the two schools are true opponents. I can't wait to celebrate that day.

Thanks for your service, each and everyone of you, past, present and future.

God Bless and God Speed to you all.

I'm afraid that Hawaii is looking to kick some after that loss to USC and unfortunately Army is next on their schedule.

Like JoePa too but hope he doesn't follow in the footsteps of Bobby Bowden and stay past his prime and get pushed out. Go out on top.
Unfortunately - I don't think that Penn State has a chance against Bama. Even if Mark Ingram doesn't play today, they are deep.
Bryant-Denny will be a pretty hostile environment.
But - I will be cheering long and loud for Penn State! :groupwave:

Well-
Navy got by in a squeaker
Army lost a heartbreaker as did UVA which surprised the heck out of USC
Penn State couldn't handle Bama
We will only say that it's now 26 years for VMI- William & Mary
and the biggest upset:James Madison Beat VaTech!!:thumb:

Oh yeah, there was this MINOR little "spanking" administered to BYU out in Colorado...:thumb:

I know you didn't want to leave that out.

Texas. Had the opportunity to see Bo Jackson play in Austin circa '84.
Sorry we let you down in Jan.

From http://militarytimes.com/blogs/afteraction/category/coast-guard/

A quick rundown on how the service academy teams did today:

ARMY (1-1) took it on the chin, losing to Hawaii, 31-28. A fumble in the final minute resulted in Hawaii getting one last shot to win the game, and the ensuing field goal was the difference. Read more on the Army Times site.

AIR FORCE (2-0) knocked off Brigham Young, 35-14, in the teams’ last meeting before BYU bails on the Mountain West Conference. It’s a big win, considering BYU leads the all-time series 24-7 after today’s game — and it was the first time the Falcons won in the series since 2003. The Gazette in Colorado Springs has more details.

NAVY (1-1) had a tougher time than expected against Georgia Southern, pulling out a 13-7 win in the Paul Johnson Cup. See Phil Creed’s post below for more details.

COAST GUARD (1-0) won the Secretaries’ Cup for the first time since 2007, beating Merchant Marine (1-1), 10-8, in picturesque New London in the Bears’ season opener. Read more on the Coast Guard Athletics site.

Haha - yeah - y'all did let us down in Jan. :unhappy::shake:
If Colt McCoy hadn't been injured (and so early in the game) Texas would have been the National champs - at least in my unbiased humble opinion.
Bo Jackson - What an amazing athlete and so fun to watch on the field.
Went to many a football game when he was a Tiger.

Uggg!!!!:unhappy::unhappy:
Going from having a good chance to win to losing within a few seconds was painful to watch. But then again, whodathunk that they would even BE in the game at the end of the 4th quarter. DS considered this almost win a win. :shake:

Hope everyone's favorite team(s) won today. Mine did!!! OT's just about do me in though. Whew.....
Heartbreaking loss for AF. :frown: Props to the Falcons though. They didn't give up and almost pulled it out.
Navy v AF should be a great game in a couple of weeks !

Well- Army certainly put the hurt to North Texas yesterday and I think will do so again next week at Duke. AF played a good ball game yesterday against Oklahoma- What did Navy do yesterday against Louisiana Tech?

Sadly Hawaii got throttled by Colorado- not gonna be a great year for the Warriors this year I'm afraid- Colt Brennan where are you when we need you?

CGA Bears were shut out by Curry College 35-0 (the #1 team in the NEFC)

No TDs by the Bears offense all season -- the only TD came on a return of the opening kickoff last week.

7 consecutive quarters of no points.

20 punts in 2 games.

Ouch, baby. VERY ouch.

As the song says, "It's gotta get better 'cause it can't get no worse."

CG at Mass Maritime next week who must be pumped after their first game of the season against MIT. Good luck to both of them

Still not sure about Army's team yet - as much as I hate to say it. A win is a win and a shut out is a shut out, but N.Texas had lost a few starters going into the game and lost a few more during the game. They didn't exactly have their best on the field yesterday. I really feel for the N.Texas coach with the ultimatum that he was given to win 7 and go to a bowl or lose his job. Wonder if he pulled out the moving boxes today.

I heard Coach Ellerson speak a few months ago and was impressed by him and his vision for the Black Knights. It sure must be hard to play competitive D-1 football when you can't have 300lb linemen, your players can't take light course loads and hours in the fall, they actually have to go to class and they must graduate in 4 (not 5 or 6 or 7) years. Now before anyone blasts me, I know the football team does get some perks, but they are still cadets/mids and have more on their plates than most D-1 football players. It's challenging to say the least. All of the SA football teams should be commended that they do as well as they do considering the limitations that they have.

Army seems to do well against teams with cardinal points in their name. Too bad we aren't playing Southern Duke next week or North Notre Dame later on.

Buzzards Bay, Mass. — Coast Guard Academy couldn’t overcome four first-half turnovers, falling to Massachusetts Maritime 23-16 Saturday in the New England Football Conference Bogan Division opener for both teams.

Army is doing just fine against regular old Duke.

LOL - yes they did! 35-21!!
Thank goodness they don't have to play East Temple next week and can play just 'regular old' Temple.
I'll be at that game next weekend and can't wait !!
