How does a regular C4C (non-IC non-D&B) get to attend an away game ? Is there an organized group of cadets who go to these games ? And can they spend the night with family / friends (Saturday night of that day's game) ?

Thanks.

You put in for one of your regular weekend passes that you're authorized. You get permission to be gone for the 2 days if that's what you put in for. You buy yourself a ticket for a plane, train, bus, or borrow/rent a car. In your case, you buy a ticket to the game. And you go wherever you said you were going. Doesn't matter if it's a football game, your parent's house, meeting your girlfriend/boyfriend to go skiing, etc... They don't care where you're going or what you're doing on your day off when you have a pass. You're an adult.

Is there an organized group of cadets going? Sometimes, yes. There are usually a large group who will travel to wyoming and CSU. These are close and they are rivalry games. Same with going to army or navy. If you're talking about a Denver Bronco game, you can usually catch a ride north and work out a way back and not have to spend the night. Other places; Buy a plane ticket and game ticket and the academy doesn't care. You're on your own. Stay in a motel, friend's house, or in the airport. No one cares. I recommend checking with squadron members (Upper class) and see if any are going. Remember one thing; whether it's enforced or not, as a C4C, you are expected to be in your service dress uniform when you leave the academy. Whether you keep it on when you're at your destination is a different topic.

Actually, and i could be wrong, but I think you need a SSS if you are going more than 150 miles. But I only have a vague recollection of that requirement

I was simply stating that you need to get the appropriate permission. (That's a given, and I don't think that is in question.) But he said non-IC, so it could be a denver bronco game for all I know. So, get whatever appropriate permission is needed to get your weekend pass and do the rest.

Some games, like this weekends USAFA vs. OU, the cadets were able to sign up for a C130 plane taking them into Tinker AFB (near Okla. City) for the OU game. I don't know if that was open to C4Cs. I don't know much more than that as our cadet just notified us last week that he had been on the waiting list and a slot opened up for this weekend's OU game in Norman, OK. I have no idea if they have to use their passes but I would assume they would have to.
