All the teacher letters and school transcript have been sent to admission office 2 weeks ago. However, that part in my son "Lack list" is still not "grayed out" yet.

Can someone tell me how long it takes for UCGA to update the application status ?

Thanks

Last year CG was a little behind in graying out the Lack List also. From what I remember, it could be a month or more before you see anything.

If you're wanting peace of mind, call or email your admissions officer to ask if they would pull the file and confirm the documents have been received.

We did this a few times, and AO, although very busy, was gracious and helpful.

There are 9 items on the Lack List:

  • Online Application
  • Online application started
  • Online application received
  • Essays Received
  • Supplemental Forms
  • Official Test Scores (SAT/ACT)
  • High School Transcript
  • Math Teacher Recommendation
  • English Teacher Recommendation
  • Coach/PE Recommendation
  • PFE Score Sheet

I looked at quite a few of them this morning and I only found one that had more than 2 items listed as "completed." (At this time, most of them are only going to show the first two items "grayed out.) It can take up to 2-3 weeks for the on-line Lack List to catch up with the actual received admissions documents.

Well, I'm not sure about UCGA, but USCGA doesn't update an applicant's "Lack List" when the application items are received...we update it when the items are processed/entered into the record. Although we've begun to receive high school transcripts, instructor evaluations, etc. we haven't processed very many yet. You can always follow-up with your Admissions Officer to confirm an item has been received or just be patient and periodically check your Lack List to see when it has been officially entered into your record.

Sorry, Objee, I mean USCGA not UCGA :).

I have an other question about USCGA rolling review process, Will the candidate be notify as soon as his/her application has been reviewed or he/she must wait until the last day ( Dec 24 for EA).

In an other word, if USCGA completes the reviewing of the candidate John Doe's application today and decides to give him an official appointment, then how soon John will receive the good news from USCGA.

Thanks

We do our best to send out notifications as soon as they're available, but all EA Group One applicants will be notified by 12/24, all EA Group Two applicants will be notified by 1/15, and all RA applicants (and EA deferrals to RA) will be notified by 4/15.

Objee,

Thanks, I understand by Dec 24 All EA1 will be notified. But based on the past, is is possible that some one receive the notification in Oct ?

It's possible, but highly improbable, that notifications would begin to be mailed in October; however, if you're in EA Group One, you really don't need to start checking your mailbox until mid-December.

Objee,

My son completed his application (essays, transcript, SAT, teacher's letters..) quite sometime ago. Whenever the admission board start to review the candidate application, his will be among the first group.

Can you tell me when the board start the reviewing work? Also can you explain the reviewing procedure ? How many people on the board? etc...
