My son is an Early Action applicant at the USCGA. Its been a long ride, going back to before he attended AIM, and culminating this week with the submission of his completed package. We all know that we can't "will" them a spot, or do it for them; hopefully all of our kids have done their very best in the process, and whatever the outcome they can take satisfaction in that knowledge. I know this is something my son wants badly - I served as an enlisted US Marine, and later as a commissioned officer in the Navy, so he has been raised with an appreciation for the importance of service. I'm sure he will find a way to accomplish that even if he is not honored with an academy spot. My reason for writing is to thank all of you for your extraordinarily helpful strings and comments on this forum. While I have never posted before, I have read the chats repeatedly, and have learned so much that enabled me to help my son with the process. I am amazed at the quality of the young men and women we have read about on these strings, and the commitment of their parents in supporting them and helping them succeed. Good luck to all of you as the process rolls on - the unbearable waiting begins!

Amen leapyear. Our daughter sent in the last pieces of her EA this week this well. You are right, it has been a long haul. Our daughter went to AIM as well. Good luck to all and thank you to everyone on these forums for their support. As you said...now the wait begins.

CLASS OF 2015 R-DAY IS IN 254 DAYS!!!

Relax - no mailman stalking until the first week in December!

Best of luck to all those applying to the Class of 2015.
The selection process will begin in a few short weeks and waiting until December to hear any news will feel like an eternity.
You'll get to know your mail person quite well and the path to the mailbox will be well worn.
Keep the faith, enjoy your Senior year, and though not popular to say, have a great backup plan.

The 4/c are already counting the weeks until 1st semester final exams. Time sure does fly when you are having fun!

Thanks

My son has completed his EA and thus the waiting game begins. This is truly an excellent tool that my son has spent many hours going over many posts to see whet he could learn that would make his experience better. We attended a "Cadet for a Day" and walked away knowing that USCGA is a fine institution and one that any young man or woman would be proud to attend.

Thanks to all who have posted about their experience here.

All the best to the CLASS OF 2015!!!!
