I love my football, and especially Falcon college football, but here's a sad bit of news. (To go along with Air Force's Fullback Jared Tew's broken Fibula that happened in the 1st qtr in yesterday's game). In the army game yesterday, with only 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter, a rutger's player (Tackle) made a really hard hit. He's now paralyzed from the neck down. Lets pray for his speedy recovery, as well as Jared's, and pray for no more injuries of this magnitude.

How saddening...I truly hope he recovers.

Sad indeed.
Eric Legrand is paralyzed from the neck down. He put his head down with the hit and damaged his spinal cord. He underwent surgery to fuse his spine. His prognosis is unknown at this point.

Penn State fans all remember Adam Taliaferro who also was paralyzed as a freshman at Penn State back in 2000. He was told he would never walk again but a year later, walked out onto the field and led the team; although his football playing days were clearly over.
I was please to hear that JoePa has been in contact with the Rutger's Coach and Adam, who is a graduate of Rutger's Law; hopes to visit Eric soon.
