Do any parents know when B Splits are to report back at KP?
DS is claiming ignorance and that he doesn't know where to check. Hmmm, right!!! Knowing makes it real!!
I'm not asking for his benefit but so my husband and I can make plans to drive him back.

According to the Regimental Calendar, 2013B's are to report by 1200 on 10/31. In-processing and sea projects are scheduled for 11/1 w/ regimental training for 2013 @ 1605.
Our DS & sea partner will return on 10/30.

Before you know it, they'll be out again.

Good luck to the 2013A splitters!

Thanks! DS got off his ship on Monday night. We have been enjoying every minute with him... when he isn't off catching up with high school friends and coaches. So many funny stories... and just when you decide they really are men, they do something that reminds you that they are only 19. :shake:

DS isn't scheduled to return until 11/1, based on his flight schedule from Guam. He'll be a hurting pup in class on 11/2.

So true! We've seen photos of our son in the engine room and on deck doing jobs we'd hardly imagine - and then there's the photo of DS in the mall on Guam, posing atop a fiberglass turtle with a silly smile on his face.:shake:

I should add that this sea term has been a wonderful experience for DS. He had a terrific sea partner, flew halfway around the world, had enough time to get his open water diving certificate in Guam, and refueled enough ships to get his tankerman certification. Had an e-mail from him the other day from Japan - he and a group of other cadets visited Nagasaki. All in all, he's not thrilled about coming back to reality in a little more than a week.

Actually following graduation, with some minor alteration, what he's experienced the past couple of months, could be his new reality. Of course first he has another couple of years and a graduation week to get to and through before then. That's what makes KP such an awesome path to have travelled...

Reality is Setting In

DS had her first Interview as a 1/C with Active Duty Navy for the SWO position this week......It went VERY well, but Reality is Really Setting IN...........

Spent 3 hours on the phone looking for a Car. She would like to drive it back at Christmas to USMMA.

Her comment????? ARGH!!!! DO I HAVE TO GROW UP??? My answer: YES! STUDENT LOANS ARE A-WAITING YOU!!!! OH YES....AND THE REST OF YOUR ADVENTUREOUS LIFE. Think where you will be in 1 year..... :yllol:

Shall we sing Peter Pan " I won't grow up" That used to be my theme song and now my kids are singing it. Where did the time go??
Welcome Back all B-Splitters!!!
