The USMMA doesn't publish GPA statistics as such or at least has not in the past. I assume this is because of the fact that USMMA seeks to draw from a National Pool and GPAs aren't even consistently compiled using the same systems across a region and often not even the same between all the school boards in a state, let alone regionally or nationally.

The USMMA does provides broad statistics based on Class Rank most years. Data that is passed out and in general circulation is generally for the prior year's entering Class however I do not yet have the information they've compiled for the entering Class of 2014. Then numbers I have for the Class of 2012 and 2013 are similar -in fact in this regard (Class Rank) the profiles of the entering Classes haven't varied much over time. For the entering Class of 2013 the profile was:
Top 10%: 15% of the Entering Class
2nd 10th: 18% of the Entering Class
2nd 5th: 47% of the Entering Class
in other words 80% of the USMMA Entering Class of 2013 were in the top 40% of their high school graduating classes.

As Zonker noted if you are inquiring because you are looking to apply for admissions for entry into the Class of 2016 you are behind the power curve relative to deadlines, etc and since the traditional recommended calender for application for admission starts in February/March of your Junior Year of High School, it's rarely too early to start. Other statistics to note are that the admissions process has done nothing but get more competitive in these times of economic uncertainty and rising tuitions. The numbers for the Class of 2013 were:
Inquiries: 7370 (this is some one formally inquired about the Academy through the USMMA Admissions Office)
Total Applications: 1823
Nominated: 1345 (These were the total number of applicants that received nominations from a Member of Congress)
Incomplete Applications: 1075 (These people may or may not have been nominees and the extent of overlap of these two categories is not defined)
Met Selection Criteria: 494 of the 743 Complete Applications
Not Academically Qualified: 218 of the 743 Complete Applications
Medically Disqualified: 31 of the Complete Applications
Total Appointments Offered: 450 of the 494 Complete Applications that Met Selection Criteria
Declined Appointment: 159
Enrolled (Including International Appointments not in the statistics above): 291.

Standardized Test Scores:
SAT (Means)
Verbal (aka Critical Reading): 588
Math: 620

Female Representation (Class/%):
2010: 13.3%; 2011: 10.4%; 2012: 14.0%; 2013: 10.3%

Minority Representation (Class/%)
2010: 13.7%; 2011: 14.0%; 2012: 15.3%; 2013: 14.4%.

I know this doesn't directly answer your question however that data as I indicated is not compiled or if it is, it isn't analyzed or provided by the USMMA Office of Admissions, at least it hasn't been for the last 5 or more years. I also know that data similar to this should now be available for the Class of 2014 but I haven't asked for/seen it. That said this is the data for the Class of 2013 that I believe is most relevant to what you are asking and should give you a good idea as to where you or the person you are wondering about compares relative to the general profile of a recent entering Class, at least that was my intent - hope this helps.

I have a 3.6 cumulative GPA (but a 4.285 current) and was sent a LOA for the class of 2015 at USMMA

My son had a 3.5 unweighted GPA 3.7 or 3.8 weighted - and was in the top 10% of his class

DS's app is complete, has decent stats (3.8 unweighted /IB student/capt. of 2 teams/ top 5%) and had his MOC interview yesterday. Does anyone know if an alumni uncle would count as a "legacy". Would that have any weight?
