Hey everyone,

So I decided to continue and finish up my AFROTC scholarship application. I've already completed the online portion and I am now trying to get all the required forms from my school into AFROTC HQ as soon as possible- that being said, my goal is to have everything sent out by the end of this week.

I've read that the first board meets in December. I was wondering if, at this point, I have a chance at getting my package completed in time for review at the December board. Has anybody heard of specific deadlines for that?

Also, keep in mind that my officer interview cannot be scheduled until HQ has all of my forms. How long does that process usually take?

Thanks- AFROTC is a whole new ball game for me.

son just had his interview last week. in the interview the senior officer (interviiewed by 2 officers) told son he had a 50/50 chance of making the 1st board at this point in time. also said that the first board doesn't always get thru all of the candidates as there are so many. after he submitted all info to AFROTC it went quickly. took week to update in the portal. he actually received a letter about his interview from interview school less than a week after the portal site updated and his interview was the following week. good luck getting all in quickly.

Today, my status changed to this:

" Congratulations! You are an eligible applicant in the AFROTC Scholarship Program. Someone from an AFROTC Detachment will contact you soon to schedule your interview. If you have not been contacted within 30 days, notify this office."

I am trying to get my entire package completed asap so I was wondering when I can expect to be contacted for an interview. Would it be good for me to be proactive and contact my local detachment to schedule an interview?

Thanks for the advice.

My son called to schedule his interview. The first board meeting is the week of Dec. 6, next week, so I doubt that you can make that one but they meet again in January.

Right, At this point I'm just trying to make sure everything is in order for January.

Who did your son call for the interview? AFROTC HQ or his local detachment?

Actually, he received a letter from Maxwell and an email from the Det. Commander at the school he'd listed saying that he would be contacted. Then he called to schedule the interview rather than wait

You Will Need an Interview

Once they receive your online app they will schedule you for an interview and the interview packet is part of the package that goes before the board.

Keep in mind that the interviewer has almost a month to submit his/her evaluation after the interview is complete.
Good Luck! :thumb:

If anyone is wondering, I was able to call my local detachment and schedule an interview before one was assigned to me by AFROTC HQ.
