North Carolina Nominations

Congratulations! :smile:To which academy was your nomination? Did you receive a phone call?

To West Point. I haven't received anything from my Senator yet, but my West Point Cadet Portal showed that I had the nomination!

My son received word today that he had received a nomination to USNA from our Congressman!

:thumb::smile:

DS just got home from wrestling practice and opened letter(it was probably still slightly warm from hi-intensity flashlight examination) from Congressman(NC3) notifying him of nomination to USNA(LOA), USAFA(LOA), and USMA. So proud we could bust. Now to stalk the BFE.

Congrats to the others who have heard and best of luck to those who have not yet heard.

We are also in NC3. My son received the nomination for USMA from the Congressman, also, but already has an appointment to West Point. Spanky, The freezer trick worked for me! The letter popped right open! It was easy to seal back, also!:thumb:

I got word on Saturday that I got a nomination to West Point and Annapolis from Sue Myrick (NC-09)!

I'm in NC13, and I received an email saying that Brad Miller would have his nominations decided sometime between mid-december and christmas. So hopefully I'll receive word soon! At least I already have Senator Hagan's though!

Unless things have changed for Burr, don't expect word from him for about another week, and even then it will be to set up an interview appointment, which they do in January.

Burr typically waits to the deadline date of submission (end of Jan.) before he gives them out.

Thanks for Burr info

DS was debating on calling Burr's office. He interviewed with Hagan (haven't heard anything ), and will interview with McHenry in January.

Thanks everyone who post information! I don't know what we would have done without you guys. Good luck to everyone in NC and Merry Christmas!

I received an e-mail notification today from the office of Brad Miller saying I had been nominated! Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the reception in January; I'm in Afghanistan :frown: and won't be back until about 2 weeks afterwards!

I got a call yesterday from Sen Hagan's office to say that I had gotten on her nom list too for USMA!! Have been told that my rep interviews are in mid jan, haven't heard a thing even though I have called from Burr's office.....

Congrats to the rest of you too!!!

edit: after I got the call I checked my portal. It's on there too!
2nd edit: USMA

@Ward, I haven't heard anything from KAy Hagan's office. I just know I got the nomination because it showed up on my USMA portal.

Nice, hopefully we'll both be appointed! I haven't received an LOA, have you?

Again, unless something drastically has changed in the past few yrs with Burr, the majority of interviewed will get the nom.

He is not someone who pulls in 30 -40 candidates for 10 spots. He brings in about 15-18 for those spots.

He does not submit principal, but competitive.

I believe when DS did it, it was the 1st Saturday after the holiday season ended.

The nom showed up on his AFA website before we received the letter, and it happened quickly.

Butterfield never interviewed, and never sent a letter of notification until Feb. It appeared on the portal right around XMAS.
