Anyone have an idea why this would be required?
Current HS senior, no health issues...
Only history a cracked collarbone a yr ago, healed fine.

17-DEC-10 Date letter sent - Remedial R251.14
17-DEC-10 Date exam reviewed
Agency: US Army ROTC

Current Medical Status: Remedial Requested (as of 17-DEC-10 ) R251.14
Short Desc: Det/Bn Commander's Unit Fitness Activity Report
Long Desc: DOES NOT REQUIRE A PHYSICIAN'S APPOINTMENT: Please submit a statement from your Battalion OR Detachment Commander detailing your participation in unit fitness activities; list any limitations.

They don't want to take a candidate's word that "everything healed fine"--they want to see for themselves, thus the request to have the Battalion commander verify there are no physical limitations etc from your collarbone break. I would complete the requirement ASAP as the whole DoDMERB process can take time to finish, get updated on your status page etc. There are many many candidates (academy and ROTC, for all branches) going through the same kind of thing right now so I'm sure the staff at DoDMERB is very busy!

What are the rules AFTER DoDMERB and acceptance at an academy? Would medication for ADD be immediately disqualifying? Waiverable? Is there a good source of info or place to ask?

Thanks for any help, and Happy holidays!!
