Just curious...
What if one has an appointment to the Class of 2015, then breaks a leg or something and becomes medically disqualified to report on R-Day?
Would USMA extend that appointment to the Class of 2016, assuming the cause for disqualification has a good chance of healing completely by then?

It is my understanding that you will only be extended an appointment to the next class if the injury occurs after you sign the dotted line on R-Day. If it happens before R-Day, you would have to reapply.

I would guess you’d get it again, because your package will only get better, and you could go to a whatever other college you got into or a community college (if you didn’t apply for anything else) for a year, then transfer. It’d just be a real shame.

Three correct answers:

1. Don't:)
2. If you do, let Admissions and DoDMERB know immediately
3. It's a case-by-case basis regarding the injury, illness, disease, and/or condition. Hence, that's why #2 above:thumb:

This one if for Mr. Mullen. I received my appointment to USMA a week ago (NV03!!!) and my parents were going to take me to the dermatologist this week. There is definitely a possibility of me receiving acutane to help out with my acne. Would that disqualify me from my appointment? I would be off of it by R-Day but I will not do anything that jeopardizes my appointment. Any advice would be nice.

Post your question in the DODMERB section of the forum so Mr. Mullen can see it.
