DS received notification of his nomination to USNA on December 9. The nomination is still not showing on USNA CIS. I know the MOC's have until January 31st to submit their slates, but if you have already been notified, shouldn't it be on the CIS by now?

Not necessarily

DS received notification of his nomination to USNA on December 9. The nomination is still not showing on USNA CIS. I know the MOC's have until January 31st to submit their slates, but if you have already been notified, shouldn't it be on the CIS by now?

When our son received notification in Dec. 2008, his nomination status did not show up on CIS until Feb 2009. It is the holidays and the MOC's got the noms out in time for Christmas in MD that year. This year, 2010, our daughter received notification of her nomination before Christmas also, I expect the same will hold true and it will not show up for a while yet. Hang in there Shelbyboyz!!! It will all catch up just fine. Have a wonderful new year and congratulations on your DS' nomination!!!:thumb:

Others have confirmed this

on some other threads. There are some who do not report the nomination right away, and it is also the holidays. You can always call the office of the senator, etc. and ask for the person that handles this. They could tell you. Try to speak with the person who let you know. Good luck!

Thanks!

We are so thankful that DS received a nomination - what a nice Christmas present indeed! Will just have to remain patient (not easy) and hope (pray) for the best! Thanks pmlutton, Congratulations to your DD and kudos to you for going through this process twice :thumb:

It all depends upon when the MOC gets the info to the academies. However, I will tell you that my son was nominated by MOC....date of the letter was Dec 18. We were checking candidate information system daily. It showed up on the candidate page on Christmas Day. No joke. Now, what I do not know is whether that means the MOC's staffer worked that day or whether someone at USNA got it entered Christmas day. Wonder if it goes directly onto candidates page when MOC enters it???
