Use of Middle Name?

Hi,
I have a very long Russian middle name, and I'm curious about its appearance at USAFA.
My full name is 30 letters long with my middle name being 13 letters.
My whole name could not fit on the status postcards, so my last name was cut short.
During Summer Seminar I saw that my whole name was stuffed into my element leader's roster.

Of course I am comfortable with my middle name, but I am just hoping that USAFA could use my middle initial for aesthetic purposes rather than just cramming it all in.
 
Usually, it will be last/first or last/first/MI. Very few places use full middle names...although they do read them at graduation. :biggrin:
 
If you have a nickname you can even be called that. My son has 2 middle names and he is known by his first middle name at the academy. They also use both middle names for formal purposes.
 
How are nicknames used in the Academy?
My acceptance letter was addressed to my legal name but within the letter my nickname was used.
 
I was surprised at how well nicknames are used. We sent my DS off in June expecting he would be called by his First name and it would be strange that everyone would call him that--but his first letter home said "I am still 'Will' here".
so they make it a point of figuring out what you want to be called.
In high school alot of my ds's teachers called him by his first name because they went straight from the roster.
 
Raimius is correct your orders will always be cut with just the initial.

I always laughed when I saw Jim N.I. Smith.

I had to ask Bullet what that meant because I saw a couple of them one time.

It stands for No Initial.

Yeah, now they go by NMI, "no middle initial."
