Does anyone know what the Army is doing regarding the lack of information about the date change from the 27th to the 20th?

I believe they are offering $500.00 savings bonds for all those inconvenienced.
Good Luck!

What is this date change about? The time that the board meets is now changed?

They just changed the deadline for deliverables for the next board. With the board sitting early this week it would have been unreasonable to accept stuff up to Friday 31st and expect it to be processed for the board.

Chip,

What were you looking for...there is still one board left, so no one really missed out on a chance at a scholarship in the big picture. I'm 100% with you that it is kind of screwed up that it happened, but short of writing your congressman/woman, there's not much we can do. I'll make sure the complaint gets voiced up my chain of command (BDE ROO conference next week).

I guess I was wandering if they were going to grandfather in those applicants that got all info in by the 27th?

My son was not offered a scholarship on the first AROTC Board. His information was updated in early November to add his Eagle Scout Award. Does his application automatically go to the second board on January 4th?

Yes, and if he doesn't get it then, it goes to the next (and final) board

You will probably see results by the end of January. As I always say, stay in close contact with your ROO.

Monalbanol...your son's file will probably not be reboarded. He may be given credit for the Eagle, but I'm betting the file won't be relooked by the second board. Usually if the applicant doesn't get an offer they just stay in the pile, with the original score, and the files scored by the second board get added in, then Cadet Command designates a cut line to make enough offers for the second board. You stay in the running during the whole process, but your score usually doesn't change.

When do you think the AROTC scholarship status should be changed online?

Even though you may have everything completed on your application, your status will still say contact a PMS for an interview. It won't change from that until you receive a scholarship.

Don't worry about being the first to know, they all seem to appear at the same time on all applicants pages after a board. So when you see people posting all over this page about receiving a scholarship, that will be a pretty good sign :thumb:
