I'm excited so I have to post this! No classes at the Academy tomorrow, just a day of study hour and fun in the snow! Proof that you can come here and still have fun  Good luck with everyone on their applications! :thumb:

I'm curious, but do you have to make up the classes on a Saturday like I believe USMA does or is it really a more "free" day for you?

Enjoy! I just heard the good news from our cadet...he is looking forward to some extra sleep! Not exactly "fun", but definitely appreciated. :thumb:

And I don't think the day needs to be made up....the one day they had last year wasn't, so unless things have changed, I think there are a thousand really happy cadets right about now!

Nope! Unlike USMA, we do not do make up days or anything like that. A snow day combined with study hour gear, a corps wide late rack, and about 13 inches snow caused a large amount of yelling at dinner tonight. Everyone is way excited and any thoughts of homework have gone right out the window. Although, my roommate and I are getting together with our 3/c to study for Boards.

Haha that's pretty awesome! I know that I probably don't need it as much as you guys, but there was a similar reaction last block today in school when it was announced the superintendent had cancelled school for tomorrow and Thursday will be questionable as well

Snow day!

Hi. Just wondering if you got a second snow day?! Is the Academy open today, Thursday?

Unfortunately, yes...the Academy is open today. Yesterday was a lot of fun...almost the entire Corps was out in the snow. Sledding, snowball fights, and a couple of giant snowmen...including one on the Commandant of Cadet's lawn. A lot of firsties with snowboards and skis were out by the obstacle course as well, building jumps and stuff like that. No matter what anyone says, you definitely can have fun while you're here...cadets tend to be very creative. :thumb:

Thanks trackandfield! Sounds like a great day of fun. How much snow did you end up with? We didn't get any...in sunny south Florida:wink:

I'm not sure exactly because we got snow last Friday and Saturday as well so that had not melted but it was pretty deep so from about 3 nights worth of snow, I would say maybe a foot and a half, and about 8-9 inches Tuesday night into Wednesday. That's just a guess though.

Another Snow Day today! It started out as a delay but turned into a base closing...lots of screaming going on in Chase Hall right now! :thumb:

So its official...another snow day! The Corps has yet to have a full week of classes. :thumb: :shake:

Although this one is more due to ice than anything else...the roads on campus are almost completely frozen over with a layer of ice. Morning Colors was a good time in this weather.
