I received an appointment to USNA earlier this month and I am planning on attending the overnight visit at USNA on Feb. 10th. I'm just wondering if someone could give me some information on what I will experience there and what I'll be doing. I know I'll be shadowing a cadet for the day but I just wanted to see if anyone could give me some more details on the experience.

Thanks!

Basic CVW schedule

Thursday: arrive with parents, listen to admissions presentation ( good Q & A session with admissions reps), parents leave, assigned to company and mid, spend remainder of the night with mid(s) in Bancroft. If you are lucky they will already have finished their homework for the night and you will get to ask them about life as a mid.

Friday: (my mid had morning practice so we were up very very early), breakfast, attend classes with mid, lunch, attend STEM presentation with parents, brigade had a parade when I went, relax the rest of the evening by possibly attending a sporting event

Saturday: head back home

The biggest advice I can give you is ASK QUESTIONS! Nobody knows what life is like at USNA than a mid who is currently there. Congrats on your appointment. I have also received and accepted my offer of appointment. Hopefully I will see you come June 30th :thumb:

Depending on which company you will be with you might also have Saturday Morning Training. SMT can be anything from a presentation to going outside/ or a gym and running and doing pushups and the like. When I was there we did both. It was a good experiance and I learned a lot. Ask questions and I wouldn't suggest calling them cadets either.

My Mid observed the Brigade do PRT, was dragged to Plebe Chemistry - participated in the lab, took a quiz too. Passed

The experience cemented her decision to attend; she signed the acceptance letter Saturday evening as soon as we got back home.
