For the AROTC medical exam, do I have to bring anything other than the forms I filled out on the computer?

When I took my DoDMERB exam, all you took was the paperwork and yourself. Oh and a book or something for the wait time. I think I had two to three hours before I actually got to see the LN and then another half an hour before the doctor showed up

I'd bring some identification...just in case.

Yes, DS had to show his drivers lic. and if you are under 18, bring a parent in case then have to sign for releases etc...I had to sign permission for the doctor to examine DS.

Make sure you complete the entire exam, I know that sounds strange but don't assume they have completed the entire exam.

My son arrived for his exam, was taken back to the exam room on time.

He came out 15 min. later and said he was done. I was a little shocked since my older son's took over an hour.

The woman at the front desk said it was the shortest ROTC exam she had ever seen. Luckily I asked some questions regarding what had been done. When I asked if he had completed the hearing test he just said "Well they looked in my ears". I had the nurse double check and found out they forgot to do the hearing test. He was taken back and given the hearing test and then we left. The whole thing took less then 1/2 hour. We were a little worried thay had forgotten something else until he received his "Qualified" status a week or so later.

So just make sure they do everything they are required to do so you don't have to go back for another appt. that would just cause delays in the whole process.

Get a copy of the exam

We did not know that you could get a copy of the exam to review after the doctor was finished. When we did get a copy, we found an error in something that the doctor wrote down. The doctor misunderstood something DS said. We had to then go about getting that corrected after it was sent to DoDMERB.

For DS it was the end of the day, on a Friday and everyone was rushing. Check your height, weight, etc. It is my understanding that we could have had the copy before we left the office, but I am not sure if that is correct.

Is it true I have to have my optometrist appointment before the medical/hearing? My mom is telling me this but I didn't see it anywhere on the website

I was under the same impression as you. However when I called to schedule my medical, they made it VERY clear I had to have the optometrist appt. first.

Optometrist first, medical second. That is correct

Picture ID is required. The completed medcial history and partially completed medical exam form.

Parent, if under 18, if required at the time you schedule the appointment. Different states, different requirements.:thumb:

Once again thank you Mr. Mullen, you've saved me from most likely a whole mess of trouble

Is it alright if I have my eye exam at 1:30 and then my medical at 3:00 on the same day? The offices are very close and I want to get them over with
