What are my chances?

Hi. I am a football team located in the Eastern United States (Pennsylvania) and will be playing in an important game today. The problem is that my mother will be watching, and I don't know whether to tell her we will win or lose.

I am curious about what do you folks think are my chances today. Here are my stats:

Win-Loss Record -- 12-4
Total Offense (per game) -- 345.3 yds
Total Defense (per game) -- 276.8 yds
Points Scored (per game) -- 23.4 pts
Points Allowed (per game) -- 14.5 pts

I am currently ranked at the top of my organization and have plenty of leadership experience. However, I have never participated in JROTC or Boy Scouts, and I do not have too many ECs (although some of the guys have appeared in shampoo commercials). I understand that the opposing team today has a very strong background in the Girl Scouts.

My favorite colors are black and gold, and there are no DoDMERB issues.

I am in top physical condition, but a lot of the guys have problems with pull-ups for some reason.

Any advice is appreciated.

My advice to you - unnamed Football team- is to eat more Cheese! Oddly enough though I think that the Cheese may eat you this year:eek:. Good luck and tell your loyal family not to feel too disappointed if you don't make it this year- at least they will all have handy towels to cry into:biggrin:

There's a reason the Green Bay Packers are called the "Green" Bay Packers. Stillers have considerably more experience than those other no-name greenhorns!!

I would offer that the colorblind test be administered again as you have obviously failed it. Send your name and last 4 digits of your SS# to Larry Mullen, perhaps he can look at a waiver

Mistaking yellow for gold is a ongoing problem for a city that dresses as yellow & black numbered bumblebees for all 3 (baseball, football, hockey) sports seasons.

When you become fluent in applying SAF things to jokes about the Super Bowl, I think it's time to log off for a little bit :thumb:

What are yunz talkin about, you cheese-heads should just pop open a cold IC-light and then cry in your beer as the Steelers rule the day.

In addition to the USMA forum (where I tend to lurk more because of my lack of personal experience), it's that darn "January 4, 2011 AROTC Board" thread that keeps going and going and going like the Energizer Bunny.

As a moderator, I usually try to give as positive of an answer to people that I can. In this case, however, I am sorry to say that I am not very confident in your chances.

Your stats might be adequate in the East Coast region, but remember, you are competing at a National level now, and that includes the Upper Midwest.

Your EC's are fairly weak.

The team that you are playing does have a youthful edge in physical ability, so you will have to play very hard all the way up to the deadline in order to be competitive. Your opposition also has a family tradition of winning these type of contests that goes back all the way to 1967. (Wow, that's even farther back that USNA69!)

In closing, I wish you the best. I cannot give you much hope of winning this contest, though.

I have got to say that this is one of the funniest threads I have read on this forum and am now glad my stalking has been rewarded. Unfortunately, my friend the Cowboys got rejected this year, but will reapply in the year to come.

Congratulations to all the Green Bay fans! The Packers definitely commanded this game and were much hungrier.

Very respectfully,

It was a good game to watch though. I usually just watch the commercials, but this year was a let down with the exception of Roseann Barr getting hit by a log:shake:
