Reapply to USAFA

If a cadet is academically disenrolled, what can they to do to return to the USAFA?

1. How long ago were they dis-enrolled?
2. How long were they at the academy prior to dis-enrollment?
3, If dis-enrolled for a period of time, did they go back to college and continue taking classes?
4. If classes were taken, how well did they do in them?

There's a lot of variables. Including if there were extenuating circumstances that lead to the individual not doing well academically, and the reason for their dis-enrollment. And with cut backs in appointments, it will become even more difficult to get back in. Not impossible, but you're going to have to show how you benefit the air force by coming back. And depending on how long ago a person was dis-enrolled, the academy may decide to have the individual start the entire 4 years of the academy all over again. Again; there's a lot of questions that need answering first.

It was only my first semester. I was pulling all A's and B's my second semester. I tried to appeal but with no luck. I was asked to disenroll for a 1.2 GPA and NO conduct or other issues. My military GPA was 2.927
I am enrolling today in a technical college and then transferring to a 4 yr. this Fall

You might want to contact admissions and see how they feel about the idea. Did you have exit interviews? Did they encourage you to come back and try again or shake your hand and send you on your way?

I hope that you are aware that the USAFA is making serious cuts to the entire Cadet Wing. They have been ordered to reduce the cadets from 4,559 to 4,000. New classes entering this year and next will be much smaller than in years past.

I realize this may sound like an excuse but I was placed in Chem. 110 which is both Freshman Chemistries combined and I failed it. I also transferred to a DOD critical language and did not stay with my language background and it cost me dearly. Once I was placed in classes I should have been in the first semester, I was pulling all A's and B's.

It just seems like I never had a chance to redeem myself. Many of my upperclassman knew what was happening to me was because of the cuts. I was even told just last year that cadets with only a .5 GPA were allowed to stay.

I know I can accomplish this goal if only given the opportunity.
