Where can you leave gear only allowed after A Day?

The list of stuff allowed on R day is pretty restrictive, like no cell phones. Is it possible to leave that stuff in a locker until when it is allowed? Might want to bring some helpful books like reference books or some language books, digital language dictionary for use when classes start. When they take your clothes, can valuable stuff like that be left with West Point too? I suppose it is safe?
I suppose they don't confiscate your one piece of luggage with your boots and low quarters, sun glasses and other optional stuff you brought. So they must put your civilian clothes in a box or something. If there is no way to leave this other gear which is allowed after A Day, I guess there must be a locker or something to rent in Highland Falls?

The best place for the things you mentioned is at home. Pack a box, ask someone to mail it to you in time to arrive on A day, if people are not coming to see you on A day. It would be great if everyone were honest and left people's things alone, but items tend to disappear, even at West Point. You will have a phone in your room to use prior to your cell phone arriving. There is really nothing you need that you won't be issued. A few days won't make much difference on the items you mention.

I agree with mom3boys but whatever you bring on R-day that isn't allowed will be kept in your one piece of luggage and stored in the trunk room of the barracks. Your things may be fine or they may disappear, I would not recommend that you leave anything of value in there.

Also, you want to pack very light for R-day...books = bad idea.

I agree with the above. Pack a bag of stuff you want for after basic and leave it at home. If parents are coming to Aday have them bring it; if not, have them ship it.
