My DD just received a letter, dated February 23, thanking her for completing the application and that her record has been forwarded to the Cadet Candidate Evalutation Board for review. It says she is one step closer to an appointment. Is this a form letter that everyone gets?

Yes, I believe all who complete the application get this letter. It means the application is being reviewed. Good luck. :thumb:

ds got one last night...form letter, thin envelopes are always scary.

If you have not already, you may also receive a large, thick envelope from USCGA. I later felt rather foolish after realizing that I had jumped around the mailbox in celebration of having received a beautiful color brochure describing the various majors offered at the academy! The BFE you ARE looking for has generally been sent, we've been told, in the thin cardboard US Priority Mail envelopes. I'm now hoping to see one of those with my son's name on it soon...

Oh my gosh....that is hilarious! I almost burst onto tears when we received a TWE from the Naval Academy, it was an invite to visit the campus.... :shake:

Yes, this is standard confirmation that your package is complete and ready to go before the Board.

DS hasn't received one and we know that everything it in to the academy and has been for a while now....so what's next? Is he not being looked at?

Did your DS apply early admission? My DS did, and he received a letter Dec 1 stating he was being deferred to regular admission. He submitted additional information before the Feb 1 deadline, but we haven't heard anything since.

Jagabiti, I wouldn't be too concerned. Back when my son got that letter during EA1, other folks, for whatever reason, posted that they did not receive one. If you want to make sure, I would guess that your AO will confirm that the file is complete and going before the board if you give them a call.

My son never got such a letter. If everything is in order his file will be reviewed by the board...good luck!
