How will the view counter handle the January 4, AROTC thread? If you've read recently, we are curious if the counter will freeze at 99,999 or revert to zero and start over? Third possibility: will the counter continue to count up into the 100s? Please advise. Someone suggested we should ask to have the thread closed @ 99,999, but I'm no where close to completing the index we would like to include at the end to help "search" the thread for specific topics.

Thanks!!

Well I'm glad to say there's nothing to worry about as those thread counters can go into the millions.

Ohio, it may be useful to float the index by TacticalNuke and see if something can be done to put the index in Post #1 of the January 4, 2011 AROTC Board thread.

Also, a couple of months ago, I started a thread for tips on how candidates for service academy appointments might improve the basketball-throw event on the CFA (see http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/showthread.php?t=16792). I originally drafted this post in Microsoft Word, but when I tried to copy and paste everything into the first post, the SAF website yelled at me and said that there was not enough space to post my entire message (can't remember what the exact language was). To get around this, I had to delete some of the language in the first post and create a second post that contained the remaining part of message (breaking it up over two posts). So if you look at Post #1 on that thread, the space that I used is about all you can get in a single post. If your index is longer, you may have to break it up over several posts. The problem you'll have is that if you post info in one post, and other posters are posting away before you post the second post, your index will be broken up over several posts.

BTW, thanks again for taking on the index of the Jan. 4, 2011 AROTC Board.

TacticalNuke: I hereby formally nominate Ohio2015Parent as the 2011 Recipient of the coveted "SAF Coffee Mug Award" for tireless volunteerism way beyond the call of duty, with virtually no whining. There's no denying that Ohio2015Parent launched a ground-breaking thread here on SAF!! 100,000 views and counting!!!

Hopefully, we won't need millions:shake::shake:

Oh, and Pantentesq wants a coffee mug, I want t-shirts(I survived 2011 AROTC Boards). They could be made to cover ALL branchs boards, just a suggestion:thumb:

I will probably seek your help with the index, putting into first post position post would be AMAZING. Will keep it short, a true index, not another novel.

oh, sorry about the whining: this has been a little stressful.

Another option would be to make the index a sticky with a link to the thread.
