I received:

Your application met the board and you were not selected for a scholarship. You will be receiving written confirmation via mail within the next few weeks.

Does this mean I have been straight up denied and will not be in another board? Also does anyone know what the letter will say?

Thanks

It is a straight denial, if you were to meet another board, it usually says at this time, however you will be reviewed again at the next board.

If it say after you were not selected, ...at this time we will be sending you to the next board, than you have another shot.

If it ends with a period after you were not selected. It is a straight denial. You will not be meeting another board.

We are now getting down to the finish line, so JMPO, the amount of re-boarding will decrease dramatically, while the straight up denied will be increasing.

So is it a denial or will it meet another board?
This is what it would say if you were to be reboarded:

"•Your application met the board and you were not selected for a scholarship. However, based on your rank on the board, your application will be meeting the next board. You will be receiving written confirmation via mail within the next few weeks."

I think this means that you will not be offered a scholarship. You can call Maxwell to make sure. I think you might find it interesting to read Bullet's link (if you have not already done so) about his journey to a military career. It might help give you some perspective.

Best Wishes!

Thanks Pima, that was a great read. My plans are to go on to school and participate in ROTC like crazy and grab a 3 year scholarship.

My DD just received notification in the mail yesterday that she is a recipient of a type 2 AFROTC scholarship! Now we have to wait to see what colleges she gets into.

Congratulations! You were awarded a scholarship. You will be receiving written confirmation via mail within the next few weeks. If you have questions please notify HQ AFROTC/RRUC.

Soooooo happy!

Congrats to you all.

Now wrap yourself up in bubble wrap...nothing worse than getting a scholarship and than breaking a leg that requires a pin to set it and being forced to go through the DodMerb process again.

May be a dumb question, but what do I do now? Should I contact the detatchment at my intended school? What do I do about DOdmerb? Will all the info I need be in the official letter?

There are no dumb questions here. It is always a good idea to introduce yourself to the detachment at your intended school. They know the ins and outs of the admissions and financial aid worlds. Ask them your questions and they'll either answer them or find out for you. The official letter will contain directions and warnings.
