Hello all!

I applied for acceptance to the Naval Academy this year and was fully qualified. I received a Presidential Nomination in September and I was just wondering about the timeline for notification of if you were accepted or not! I have read that you can go to the DODMERB website to see, but that website seems to be down However, I also heard that your nominating source would notify you as well. Since I received a Pres. Nomination, what form would that notification come in? Phone call, letter, etc. I also was just wondering if other candidates have been informed yet on their acceptance. I check my mailbox here at UNL daily and I'm sure the front desk people think I am crazy when I sigh (pretty loudly) when I see I haven't found out any information on the Naval Academy. Any information or guidance that you guys could give me would be so sincerely appreciated during this stressful and anxious time for me!!

Thank you!

My only question is, when did you completely complete your application?

I know a couple people that were accepted as early as last fall. (They were recruited athletes so it might be different). But I also know a guy who got accepted via phone call around December.

I am currently in the same boat as am hopefully awaiting for my appointment.
I am a recruited athlete that was just cleared medically by DODMERB so my overall application is now open to review.

While many candidates know of their appointment differently, I am sure that ALL get their OFFICIAL appointment letter in a big manila envelope.

As for the timeline, the USNA coach that I am contacting said that sometimes people get appointed a week before BCTs start. So keep your hopes up!

Just keep your head up and GOOD LUCK!

USNA tries to let everyone know their status: appointed, denied, or waitlisted by April 15th. Also from everyone I've talked to most appointments go out during March so you should know soon.

I was not called by my Congressman. I also did not receive notification from DoDMERB, and I did not get any letters from either academies stating that I was 3Q'd. I was quite surprised when I opened up my BFE on January 3rd, 2011 (I was not expecting anything until March). I was a Principle nominee for both the Naval Academy and West Point.
As others have stated, don't lose hope. After all, this month of March is the biggest Appointment month. I know a guy that goes to USAFA that didn't receive his BFE until April, and he's doing splendid there. Best of luck to you, and keep your hopes up!

You're right. Many MOCs don't call (mine didn't oh so many years ago). Unfortunately, there's not much to do but wait.

I will say that the overwhelming majority of those who are offered appointments hear before the end of March. That is NOT to say that some don't get good news in April. But if April 1 comes and you haven't heard, focus on your Plan B and, if the BFE comes, so much the better.

They didn't have phones back then :shake:

One of my sons friends from summer session, who lives in NH just received his BFE today!!!

All of my paperwork was completely filed on January 19th, but I never received any letters saying that I was 3Q'd at all. I guess all I can do is wait now!! Thank you all for your advice!
