Have some TWE letters already been sent out, or will they all be sent out together.

Unfortuanately, a friend of DS got TWE yesterday.:frown:We are in Ohio

DS got his TWE yesterday as well, we are in NJ. Still waiting on AFA and USMA and NROTC. Already have a 4 year ROTC. Good luck everyone!

It actually was in a Thin White Envelope! HA HA

Silly Question

I understand sometimes 3Q'd + noms DD/DS's do not receive a letter stating they are 3Q'd...where on their USNA application/status page(s) would we determine 3Q status? I would like to think he is 3Q'd and still in the running since we haven't received either the dreaded "you now what" (I just can't bring myself to say those three little letters!) or the BFE yet...and the mail has already come today so the wait continues...

Where in NJ are you from? Sorry for the bad news! Congrats on the ROTC

Read the sticky "Applying Again" and try try again. You never know.

So sorry for your pain and disappointment. Truly, if this is one of your worst, you've lived a charmed life. And it only means tomorrow and days following will be better. The bottom's sometimes a good place to get moving upward from.

Lick your wounds ... then get ready to lick the world. And you can. If you've made it to this very point? It means you are one of the finest young people our world has to offer. Now go and validate all you've been striving to become. You will.

If it is still your desire, do consider reapplying. I had 3 outstanding candidates who last year got the TWE. This year, one already has an appt -- others still waiting.

Agreed. My B&G officer holds a 100% success rate for second tries if the candidates take the courses she tells them to and take part in the activities she tells them to.

It's not just taking the courses, it's doing well in them. For most (not all) candidates, the issue is at some level academics. As noted in my sticky, the best way to prove to USNA that you can handle the academics is to get As (or maybe Bs) in plebe courses, such as calc, chem, English, history and physics at the college level.

College activities aren't that important b/c USNA recognizes that it's hard to demonstrate leadership as a college freshman. If you think it was leadership or athletics that derailed you, you may want to focus on that. However, as noted in the sticky, talk to your RD (preferably in June/July when he/she has a bit of time) and find out what your weaknesses were. Then strategize with your BGO on how you can address those.

Good luck!
