I'm in NROTC right now (Navy option), but I want to switch to the Marine option and keep my scholarship intact as well. If I'm not able to make the switch to the Marines, I can't see myself as a surface warfare officer, submarine officer, eod, or any of the other options I have as a Navy option midshipman. Pilot seems to be the only thing that I could deal with, but the technical and mathematical skill it takes to graduate flight school seems daunting and I don't know if I want to be a pilot that bad. However, I have heard of people spending a year or two as a SWO, Sub Officer or some other unrestricted line officer, then transferring to another community within the Navy. For example, I would want to be an Aviation Rescue Swimmer if I'm in this position a few years from now. Is this possible?
