I have searched almost every single thread and have not came across one that was only full of candidates resumes. It would be awesome if admitted candidates and juniors that have been accepted to the USAFA Summer Seminar this year were to post thier achievements; then people (like myself) can compare and see if they are on track.

Keep in mind that for summer seminar, your grades and stats aren't everything, and even having good grades and test scores isn't enough to guarantee you a slot. My ALO told me that one thing USAFA does with summer seminar is they try to spread it out geographically, so that they don't have a bunch of kids from one area of the country and none from another. So if you come from a more densely populated part of the country, that will be a factor and may make it more difficult to be accepted, even if you have pretty good stats. I had a 236 on the PSAT and a 3.9 unweighted GPA and still didn't get accepted, so nothing is a guarantee. I'm from a pretty densely populated area of Texas, so that was likely a factor.

Also, that the earlier you can get your application submitted, the better off you'll be. I submitted mine December 20, and while that was by no means pushing the deadline, if I had submitted it earlier then I may have gotten a slot.

I will say, however, that West Point and USNA seem to operate differently, as I was accepted to both of their seminars. But my main point is that just having the stats isn't enough, so if your grades match up with what you see other people posting, don't get complacent, and if they don't, then don't despair. It's hard (if not impossible) to know what the people making the SS acceptance decisions are thinking.

I was at an admissions briefing at the USNA back in the summer of 2010. the USNA summer seminar is based on geography, and that's it is just used as a recruiting tool. A candidate from Maryland with better stats than a candidate from California probably won't get accepted- while the CA one will.

Here is the rough draft of the resume that I submitted. To validate what was said above, you should read every resume with a grain of salt (more like a heaping tablespoon) because admissions is unpredictable...most of this process (for summer seminar) is about the even distribution,or statistics I believe. All of you that had posted up above ^^^pointed out aspects of the application process that I never taken into consideration. Additionally, the distribution of candidates to the USAFA SS will come into play because I live in Colorado; although, it may help with getting into the USMA and USNA summer programs.

ALO's do this? And can they give you favorable recommendations for the actual application to the Academy?
