Hey,
I received a waiver from DODMERB for the USAFA last Saturday. I still have not been notified wether or not I have been offered an appointment. Does receiving a waiver mean my chances are good? How many waivers are usually given out to each class? Thank you.

The appointments have been slow to come out the last few weeks. Today, they have been picking up. I can't personally say whether or not a waiver means you will get in, but there are still plenty of appointments rolling out! =D

Good Luck!

my son got a waiver 2 wks ago...still no appointment...but the waiver is indeed a good sign...be encouraged! :)

My son got a waiver too, but not from DODMerb, it was from the Academy, but still no appointment. He does have an ROTC scholarship but pending on a waiver. It's been a stressful month and it doesn't look to get any better. My emotions are running so high.

ask a question, and it will be answered--even if you don't like the outcome.

the fact that the academy waived it, rather than rejecting it is a good sign, but that doesn't mean you'll get an appointment. Last year I was waived for eyesight at the beginning of april, but was still rejected. Granted, that is a bit late, but just letting you know a waiver isn't gonna guarentee admission.

However, I was told that last year another student in my situation (dq'd, pursuing a waiver) got a letter from the academy that basically said to give up going for the waiver, because they weren't academically qualified.

So it can go either way. But good luck! Medical Waivers are a pain, so the worst part is over now! :thumb:
